Suzie Weirick

Suzie Weirick brought the balance of education with appropriate experience to her first campaign in 2015 for the District 3 Commissioner race.  Serving Elkhart County the past 7 years, Suzie has proven herself as a dedicated public official and a natural leader.  She has continued to give time to local non-profits such as STARTUP MOXIE while being recognized and elected as the Secretary for the Indiana County Commissioners.

 

Her local focus has centered on cost-effective service delivery, strong infrastructure development, economic development and quality of place initiatives.  Suzie continues to serve on several Board of Directors and Executive Committees here in Elkhart County and across the State of Indiana.  In her short time in office, Suzie has focused on development of the dark fiber network to include an additional $20M of County investment to bring broadband access to commerce and residents alike.  She has continued her work to include workforce development efforts.  She championed the County’s involvement in the new IVY TECH flex lab in Elkhart as well as continues to support workforce development and training programming starting with junior high students.  Additionally, her support of quality of place initiatives continues to be unwavering.  She has supported miles of pedestrian trails and is excited to be a part of helping to implement improvements to County parks beginning in the Summer of 2024!

 

Suzie is married to Dr. Troy Weirick, an interventional cardiologist in Elkhart, and has two children, Marty and TJ.

Her commitment to moving Elkhart County forward as a community dedicated to families where folks choose to grow, be educated and successful in a strong economic environment, is driving her re-election campaign.
